Can You Find Me? Print

Here's my take on the piece! I was inspired by the gorgeous use of color, and the circular forms! I am in love with the circles.

I created my own tree from patterned paper and cut it out, along with

punching circles from other patterned paper.

I hand cut small blades of grass, and inked them. I added

the ribbon treatment, tie some baker's twine around and thread the buttons

To get the watercolor effect, I inked all the patterned paper

pieces with a variety of chalk and dye inks.

Paper Therapy-October 24 2010

Hello all!! Welcome to our fourth challenge at Paper Therapy. Paper Therapy is an online forum for scrapbookers and card makers to share their work, meet new friends, learn new tips and techniques and have fun!! I hope you can join us every week in our challenges! The previous three have been SUPER fun and were seeing some really incredible designs!

Here's how it works. Every monday a new challenge will be posted in the forum. You upload your design and have the chance to win the weekly challenge. A fabulous prize and winner blinkie will be awarded the first challenge winner of every month, and then subsequent challenge winners will win an awesome blinkie to share with the whole world, showing them that you rocked the Paper Therapy challenge.

This week's challenge was to make a project based on only using scrap paper and ribbon that we had laying around. Luckily, I never throw my scraps out (including sticker sheets!), so I had a lot to work with! YAY! I even had just enough lettering stickers to make a sentiment. I pulled out my current Hocus Pocus line from Pink Paislee. This line is originally designed as a Halloween line, but I decided to switch it around to make it a Thanksgiving card.

I took some "Witching Hour" scraps and pleated the paper really tight.

Then I stamped the pumpkin image with pigment ink on the pleated paper

and let it dry, popping it up with foam dots.

I took the rest of my scrap paper and cut them into various squares, all an

inch tall. I then inked each and adhere to the card, tying some

seam binding and bakers twine scraps.

Etsy Inspired #111--10.23.10

Happy Saturday all! Boy, was this a busy week for me! After being in Texas for five days last week, I came back to work and had a ton of grading to do, tons of stuff my students needed to finish and a observation to prepare for! I was creatively depressed because I only was able to design one day this week and I was away from my studio for five days last week! This post is even late because I spent the whole evening grading sketchbooks. My nieces are coming into town and staying with my hubby and me so now crafting this weekend, but next week I am back on a roll again.

However, I made two fabulous cards that were inspired by the incredible shop Stiletto Heights which sells the most beautiful, layered and ornately feminine prints ever!! The prints you'll find are based on mixed media collages that draw from contemporary and vintage ephemera which is then mixed with decorative paper and painted with acrylics, watercolor crayons and oil pastels. They are simply beautiful and I spent a lot of time trying to decided which gorgeous print to be inspired by. Here's a sampling of some of my favorites.

I simply love the romantic femininity of these pieces, and I am thinking of all the gorgeous places I would put them in my own home! So, I was inspired by two prints this week, I just couldn't resist-everything was so GORGEOUS!

on the right. I also loved the dark, antiqued ink around the edges.

Detail of my stamped flourishes. I like the idea of postage and France so I took some

Dove from the East paper and trimmed the French images that had postage on them. I then

took my Crop-A-Dile and cut little slits from the edge of it to make it look like a stamp.

I inked the edges with chalk in and stamped flourishes off the edges.

I added a floral cameo for an feminine touch

My second card was inspired by this print. I loved the bord image and the

green touches to this print. I had a vintage peacock floral tag

and I thought it would look beautiful with this print.

The peacock tag has a a shabby chic look to it. Add in the

seam binding and an opalescent button and voila! I sprayed some glimmer mist

on the doily behind the label to make it pop off the card!

The patterned paper is part of Pink Paislee's new Parisian Anthology

collection. The paper is GORGEOUS! It has a resist on it, and you

can spray glitter mist or rub chalk ink on it, wipe it away and the resist remains

white--showing the cute little doilies!

This week's challenge was to make a project based on the following colors. Since it's October and I am LOVING the new Pink Paislee line, "Hocus Pocus" I decided to make a Halloween card!

So, here's another fabulous Halloween card using the four colors above!

The patterned paper has some green galore, so saffron and pumpkin pie in it,

and the yummy sparkly ribbon treatment uses the basic black and green galore!

If you look closely behind the ribbon treatment there are some

spooky spiders creeping behind the ribbon too!

Happy Saturday everyone! I am in Texas this weekend for my DH's college roommates wedding. Were so happy for the new Mr and Mrs Brodie Heflin!! Plus, it gives my DH and I a chance to spend time with his family and check out the famous Texas State fair where I have been told to try fried chocolate....hmmm. I am told that these famous fried concoctions are incredible, but last year's main dish was fried butter so I am a little concerned.

for this paper ever since it debuted at CHA, and I finally got my hands on it two weeks ago.

I bought the paper crafter's kit which came with all the paper from the collection

as well as embellie stickers and alphabet stickers

only found in the kit!

I layered the raffle ticket stickers using foam tape on

a transparency card that is part of the collection

New Design Team!!

Hello everyone! I have been enjoying paper crafting so much, that about a month ago I decided I would like to join another team and make even more products. Well this week I was asked by Paper Vineyard to join their brand new design team!!

Paper Vineyard is a scrapbook store located in Chandler, Arizona and I will be designing cards, layouts, gifts, etc showcasing new material in the store that you can buy! Paper Therapy-October 11 2010

Hello all!! Welcome to our second challenge at Paper Therapy. Paper Therapy is an online forum for scrapbookers and card makers to share their work, meet new friends, learn new tips and techniques and have fun!! I hope you can join us every week in our challenges! This week's challenge was to use the very first stamp that we ever bought, or the oldest stamp in our collection. Between fairly new to scrapbooking (or at least building my collection) my stamp is from a Halloween collection by Inkadinkado from 2008.

This week the designers were challenged to make a project with the first stamp we ever bought or the oldest stamp in our collection. I haven't been stamping too long and I wanted to make a Halloween card so I pulled out my All Hallow's Eve set from Inkadinkado and my new papers and embellies from Pink Paislee's Hocus Pocus line to come up with this witchy little card.
